The private equity we provide is venture capital financing where investors provide capital to early-stage, high-growth startups and emerging companies with strong potential for rapid expansion and significant returns. In exchange for the investment, in return we typically share a percentage of equity ownership and board seats in the company. The capital is usually deployed in stages (seed, Series A, B, etc.), with each round tied to specific milestones that demonstrate progress and reduce risk. Most investments may fail or return modest results, but a small number of successful exits (through acquisitions or IPOs) can generate outsized returns for the fund and its limited partners.

At Peak, the venture capital process begins with sourcing and evaluating opportunities, followed by due diligence, term sheet negotiation, and closing on the investment. Once invested, we may take an active role, providing strategic guidance, industry connections, operational support, and help recruiting key talent to increase the portfolio company's chances of success. The ultimate goal is to achieve a profitable exit after a period of time, sometimes through an acquisition by a larger company or possibly through an initial public offering (IPO). Returns are distributed to investors after the fund returns the original capital plus a preferred return, with the venture firm earning carried interest along with any management fees. This structure aligns incentives between founders, VCs, and limited partners while fueling innovation the in high-potential companies we partner with.
